Wow, 2023 has been off to a very unexpected start, but I’m here for it.
There’s been so much change, so much growth, and I can’t wait to share with you what’s going on in the PLAB and KB world.
Before we dive in, you know the drill, the S.I.M.P.L.E. Newsletter is an acronym for

So let’s jump in
Story Time!
At the end of January, we wrapped the first ever Create Like a Badass Bootcamp and it was hands down one of my FAVORITE trainings I’ve ever done.
This bootcamp was all about unleashing your creativity, breaking through resistance and procrastination, and using magic and manifestation to bring your dreams to reality.
We laughed, we cried, and I’m already hearing from so many people how it’s changed their lives and got them into action, and creating more - which makes my heart smile.
To be honest, I always wanted to talk about this type of stuff.
The inner work…
The mindset….
The manifesting…
The magic…
Ya know, the woo
But I sort of kept it more private, because I thought “let’s get to the good stuff and just teach people how to produce, and get paid!!”
But I realize now I was doing you all a disservice by NOT talking about the actual inner work it took to get here, which includes the personal growth journey.
I always say mindset is the foundation for everything else, and trying to skip past the mindset work is like trying to build a house on sand, yet I wasn’t really diving into mindset as deeply as I am now.
That’s why the Create Like a Badass bootcamp was so powerful.
Because if you’re getting stuck with procrastination, imposter syndrome, fear, lack of creativity - these are all mindset issues.
Sidenote - I was told that name wasn’t super cool, what do you think?
You won’t offend me, I need to know these things, because a name can totally kill the launch of a new product. And it’s my JOB to make sure the names I choose accurately represent what’s inside so you guys know the value! So I’m curious, tap reply and lemme know.. What did you think of the name “Create Like a Badass”? π€
Btw, during the Bootcamp one of our students said “Kris just came out of the spiritual closet!!” and I couldn’t help but belly laugh, because I’m sure you all knew, but yes, I’m totally into the woo, and I’m excited to bring more of THAT energy into my content!

Ok, in other news…
After careful consideration, I made the difficult decision to part ways with our former community manager Ben.
I understand this may come as a surprise for some of you, but trust that this decision was mutually beneficial. The upcoming plans for PLAB are on a WHOLE new level and I am SO excited to share them with you.
So, I am thrilled to announce our new community manager, who has already been a SUCH a shining light in the P.LAB world, Katie Dwyer.
Katie will be managing both the P.LAB nation and Home Studio Boss FB Group, as well as leading our monthly Q&As.
Katie Dwyer is a SUPER talented musician and the ULTIMATE Home Studio Boss! (Plus, as an engineer, she totally loves to geek out on the tech side of things!)
Since going through all of our programs (including Home Studio Boss VIP) she’s skyrocketed her business as a musician, getting regular PAID production, mixing, vocal, and even audio book narrator jobs!

Oh, and did I mention she’s a mother of 4?!
Talk about a real-life superwoman!! π¦Έπ»βοΈ
Not only that, she has a passion for helping others succeed and an infectious energy! β¨
I’m beyond thrilled to have her on the team, and so excited for this new chapter! π€
Daily Dose Of INSPO

Here’s the thing….
In order for goals to be truly impactful and worthwhile, they should be ambitious and challenging enough to instill both excitement and fear.
Setting goals that only mildly excite or challenge us can lead to a lack of motivation and a sense of stagnation.
Have you ever noticed that? When you settle for the status quo, and don’t push yourself to think bigger, things get stale and lose excitement?
That’s what happened to me in Arizona…
I looked around and said, wait, this is it? And once I realized I was giving up my dream, I packed my bags and got the hell out of dodge.
And now I’m back in LA, with another hairy-scary-big-ass-goal…
Which is to write my first book…
And that SCARES the living daylights out of me!
I mean, the imposter syndrome I am having to overcome to do this is insanity.
As somebody who didn’t graduate high school, I’ve always felt insecure about my writing, and now I’m going to write a book?!
Well yeah…
Because it also excites me, and I know it’s going to FORCE me to expand into the next version of myself.
I actually read a book recently called You2, and it’s all about what it means to make a quantum leap, and stand on the edge of doing something great.
I found so much comfort in reading the part called Seek Failure, in which the author says this…
“So think of problems or pain or slippage in performance as a positive sign. A performance lag ordinarily occurs at the performance outset when you are making a quantum leap. It's the pause during which you poise for the jump, the temporary loss in momentum that occurs in the process of changing gears.
You deliberately destabilize yourself when you break out of the habit patterns that represent the status quo. You create some inner chaos for yourself. So be prepared for the possibility of confusion, anxiety and failure. That’s part of opening yourself up to a new methodology that has the potential to deliver exponential performance gains.”
When I read that, I literally cried, and I realized that although my life can feel chaotic and unsure at times, I wouldn’t have it any other way.
A part of me doubted that inner voice that told me to leave Arizona and come back here. I left a lot behind. Security. Stability. Money. A relationship. My Studio… But I realized this…
True security doesn’t come with stagnation or “arriving at safety point”, it comes through our ability to continue to create our own realities, over and over again.
So if you’re finding yourself feeling insecure, or fearful of “what’s going to happen” as you pursue your dreams, please find the comfort in knowing that that’s NORMAL! And most people who go on to do great things have a hero’s journey they have to go through to get there, which includes STRUGGLE!!
Most people aren’t even brave enough to admit they HAVE a dream, let alone chase it. You are the 1% crazy if you’re pursuing your art, and for that reason alone, you are WINNING!
And seriously, if you haven’t read You2, it’s a must read. It’s super short too, I knocked it out in a couple hours.

This month I wanted to share something a little different.
The other day I was talking about how I listen to sleep hypnosis tapes while I sleep on my IG, and a lot of you dm’d me asking me to share, so I’m going to link to my favorite channel for sleep affirmations below.
