Scoop

šŸ—ž
Little update in the KB world (new music & new insights)Ā

Ā

Recently, I've been embracing stillness more than ever.Ā

I've ventured into nature, spending more time among the trees (which seem to be my new best friends lately 🌳) , and have committed to meditating for over an hour daily for the past three months.

Instead of my usual approach of trying to visualize or "manifest" desires, I've turned inwards, asking my soul, "What is seeking to come through me?" And have been listening intently.

(They say if prayer is asking, intuition is listening. So I’m really trying to
listen.)Ā

And as I listened, wouldn’t ya know, music came up.

And I realized that while I’m no stranger to making music for clients, something deeper is seeking to emerge from me, and that’s my own art.Ā

My own expression.Ā

My own story.

The stronger this realization gets, the more songs have been coming to me as almost complete ā€œdownloadsā€ that are literally healing me from the inside out as I write them.

For the first time in my life, I’m making music without it needing to produce some kind of ā€œresultā€ for me (like placements, or $$$). The result is that I
get to express myself through my artt.

As someone who has primarily focused on getting placements and landing clients, this is sort of uncharted territory for me... you know, being an artist.Ā

Ā

It’s so fitting though as the theme of my life these days seems to be the journey from my logical ā€œheadā€ into my heart.Ā

Now, that being said, I am SO grateful that I get to do this for a living, so now it’sĀ my job to find balance between this artist emerging through me, and the work I do professionally, which brings me to my next bit of news which is ….

I wrote 30 songs for a client last month
, and hired 8 singers from our community to sing on them! 🄳

I love being able to provide opportunities for our students, and I’m excited for many more as I’m getting another 30-50 songs to work on this month!

Want to get access to these opportunities? Check out the
P.LAB All Access Pass.

In other news…

Ā

šŸ—ž Keep Your Eyes Open For A Brand New Plab ā€œLookā€ šŸ‘€

Ā

If you’ve been with me a while, you’ll have watched me grow and evolve over the last several years.

Through building different studios and moving to different states, to being newly engaged - (and then newly single), and of course from the signature ā€œLA Hatā€ to an epic hair color change šŸ‘©šŸ»ā€šŸ¦° One thing is for sure, it’s never a dull moment in the KB world šŸ˜‰

The truth is, I love expanding and reinventing myself.

I love that I’m
not the same person I was 4 years ago, it means I’m growing! Ā  🌱

One of my favorite quotes from Allan Watts is

Ā

How beautiful is that?

We can change and grow as we feel called to, just as a snake sheds its skin. šŸ

So with that being said…. Can I get a drumroll?Ā

Produce Like a Boss is getting a makeover!Ā  šŸ’„ šŸ’ƒšŸ»

That’s right, we’re trading in the hot pink and bright yellow for a brand new aesthetic that captures a little more warmth, some nice earthy groundedness, and serenity. šŸŒž

Want a sneak peak? You can see the new brand aesthetic on the All Access Page
here.Ā

It’s funny, I showed somebody the new style guide the other day and they said, ā€œaww, P.LAB is growing up!ā€ and I couldn’t help but smile.Ā

You and me both P.LAB, you and me both…
šŸ˜ŒšŸ™šŸ»

Ā

šŸ—ž ChangingĀ the name P.LAB U to the ā€œP.LAB All Access Passā€Ā

Ā

Ok, so I’ve given this a LOT of thought.

Firstly, can I just say, I freaking LOVE Produce Like a Boss University (P.LAB U)!

I love that our students can finally access ALL of my content under one roof and come hangout for weekly live calls. This membership is EPIC!Ā

But here’s the thing…

Although the initial name included "University," I believe "Produce Like a Boss" resonates more with
practical, real-world experiences than traditional academia.Ā

Many of our students, who have attended universities, even claim that "Produce Like a Boss" offers them a more impactful and effective learning experience.

So as I gave it more thought, I realized the name University doesn’t quite communicate WHAT the membership is, which is really more of an ā€œall access passā€ to my content and coaching.Ā

So, we have decided to change the name of Produce Like a Boss University to the
Produce Like a Boss All Access Pass.Ā Ā

Note:Ā  If you’re a student, don’t worry, this doesn’t affect your enrollment, it’s just a name change and affects how we’ll be promoting it moving forward.

šŸ—ž What The Funnel? 😱

Ā

I’ve noticed that a LOT of our members are asking about how to build/launch their own courses!Ā  This makes me happier than words can even describe.

At last. We can share everything
. šŸ˜

Heck yes I wanna teach you about how to build and launch your own course!Ā

Now I’ve already started teaching about how to build your brand, and how to build a funnel, and that’s all inside the
Produce Like a Boss All Access Pass under the ā€œBoss Producer Business Bundleā€, but I’m soooooo curious…

Is learning how to create and sell your own course something that interests you

If so, simply tap below with 1 click to let me know.

Yep, I want to build my own course!

I may just have something super special for ya around the corner. šŸ˜‰

Ok, last piece of news on the scoop is….

Ā

Daily Dose Of INSPOĀ

ā€œIf you choose to look at challenges as setbacks, you’ll learn your lessons from fear and doubt.Ā  If you see them as opportunities, you’ll learn from wisdom.ā€

- Loyalty To Your Soul, Ronald Hulnick PHD and Mary Hulick PHDĀ

I love this quote so much, because it’s a great reminder that it’s much easier to do ā€œthe inner workā€ when we’re sitting in our
magic bubble…

…whether that be reading, writing, meditating, ya’ know, when life is
going as planned.

But the
real work comes when we’re faced with challenges.

And while we can’t control when these challenges will occur, we can control how we respond to them.

You see,
if we perceive challenges as setbacks, then we approach them with a negative mindset, and this allows fear and doubt to cloud our judgment.Ā

Ever notice that?  That when something irritates you, you begrudgingly approach how you do it, and it just makes it worse? 🄓

Not only does this hinder our ability to overcome these challenges but it also limits our growth and learning (and lowers our vibration which hurts our ability to manifest!)

On the other hand,
if we choose to see challenges as opportunities, we approach them with a more positive and open mindset.Ā

Here’s a mantra I use when I’m going through this.

ā€œOk, this is not my preference, but I am going to make the best of this situation because I know that everything is happening for my highest good.ā€

This perspective enables us to extract
lessons from the situation, not from a place of fear, but from a place of wisdom and understanding.Ā

I like to think of it like this.

Earth is like a school.Ā  And everything is either a test, or a lesson.

āœ… If you pass, it was a test.

šŸ›‘ If you don’t, it was a lesson.

At the end of the day, there is no such thing as ā€œfailureā€. It’s all in how you choose to look at the situation 😊

Music RecommendationĀ

We’ve got a really special music recommendation this month!Ā

P.LAB Student SpotlightĀ

Ā

Ahh, it makes my heart smile so much to give out these awards each month!

We have soooo many amazing P.LAB students that are absolutely crushing it with their music careers!Ā Ā

So let’s dive into these awards šŸ†šŸŽ§

Producer of the Month

Let's give a MASSIVE round of applause to Indica Ronca, who is this month’s Producer of the Month!

Born in NY and now relocated to LA, Indica is a Home Studio Boss VIP Alumni and over the past few years, we’ve witnessed her total dedication to her music!

Indica is artistic and visual, her branding is always onpoint and she shares mostly on Tik Tok and on her Instagram stories, where she has amassed a loyal and enthusiastic following!

In fact, one of her followers reached out to Indica through Instagram to ask her to create a custom song for her girlfriend’s dog! Even though this song was in a style Indica was totally unfamiliar with (country pop), she jumped in and nailed it.Ā

Her client, client’s girlfriend (and, no doubt, the dog) were delighted!

Indica is an artist who wears many hats with style! šŸŽ¶ Whether she's crafting beats, penning custom songs, or producing tracks, she brings her unique flair to every musical endeavor! 🌟

Congratulations on winning Producer of the Month Indica!Ā

Education StationĀ

Ā

As I stated earlier, our All Access Members have exclusive access to our P.LAB Job Board, where real-time session work gigs (and real-world cash) are just a click away! šŸ’°

Since we have a lot of jobs coming in for our singers, I thought it might be fun to add a vocal video to today’s education station.

In this video, I show you how to properly clean up your vocal takes before you jump into mixing, editing, and processing!Ā

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll learn:Ā

  • How to remove unwanted noiseĀ

  • How to tame harsh plosives

  • How to cross fade your tracksĀ

  • The work to do before you compress

And with that, we’re at the end of this month’s newsletter.Ā

Stay tuned, stay inspired, and see you in the next one!
Ā

Ā

Warm wishes and happy music making!
