S.I.M.P.L.E. Newsletter
Firstly I wanted to wish everyone here at P.LAB nation a very happy new year, and I hope you all enjoyed a restful and relaxing holiday season!
And now, brace yourself because I am coming in HOT on this newsletter with the latest from the KB world.
Butttttt really quick, for any of my newbies out there…
The S.I.M.P.L.E. Newsletter is an acronym for
** Story. Inspiration. Music. Plab. Laugh. Educate **
Now, let’s gooooo!
Story Time!
So, you may have noticed me sharing some new “entrepreneurial” content with you on the socials. This is because I have decided to expand and start doing business and mindset coaching!
I’ve also decided to lean into my personal brand even more, so you’ll notice me using my name “Kris Bradley” more frequently. This is so I have an umbrella that covers everything I do, including (but not limited to) music. I have been chompin at the bit to release this new content, and I am beyond pumped to share it with you.
Now, I know many of you who are reading this follow me for all of our music education and don’t worry, that’s not going anywhere! In fact, P.LAB Nation is growing every single day, helping more students learn how to produce and scale their businesses to 6 figures.
But can I tell you something?
I am literally on FIRE to share even more of my creative pursuits with you.
The fact is, I’m an experiential teacher, and so to continue teaching from my experience means to share what I’m doing NOW. And while I still play music, I have absolutely fallen in love with the business side of things, including marketing, branding, leadership, and of course, course and content creation!
I’ve had so many people ask me how I built Produce Like a Boss to a 7 figure empire and I’m just sitting over here rubbing my hands together with a silly grin on my face thinking “I thought you’d never ask”.

So this new undertaking will be all about Growth, Mindset, Business, Personal Development, mixed with a little Woo… and it’s all geared towards helping ambitious, creative entrepreneurs monetize their expertise.
It’s for my entrepreneurs, coaches, teachers, authors, writers, speakers, and artists.
It’s for the 1% crazy.
For the unapologetic dream chasers that know they were made for MORE and made to chase their big ass dreams…
And I’ve decided to call it this new empire..
Brilliant Badass.
Here’s the quick backstory.
I was talking to a friend.. (well he’s my branding coach, but still a friend nonetheless.)

Me and Ben from Brand Builders
And I was going on a RAMPAGE about some new business ideas I had…
I mean, I was riffing and spilling different ideas and bouncing off the walls as I do when I get excited and tapped into my creative flow. (Btw, if you’ve seen me in a coaching call, you know what I’m talking about. π).
And I eventually paused and looked at him embarrassingly and said, “I’m sorry, you must think I’m crazy”. And he smiled, paused, and said “Kris, I don’t think you’re crazy. I think you’re a Brilliant Badass”.
At that moment I felt so seen.
I felt so honored.
I felt like he got it.
He knew that enthusiasm bubbling up inside of me was literal magic, and he was all about it.
And I realized that when I work with my 1:1 clients that’s exactly how I feel about them when I see them light up, and when I see them in flow!
And so that’s how the name was born!
I believe all artists and creators have a Brilliant Badass just waiting to be unleashed from the depths of their souls, and I’m on a mission to help them tap into it!!
And btw, Brilliant Badass isn’t a course or a book, it’s the umbrella over all of the content. So you know how there was the “Chicken Soup for the Soul” book series? It’s kinda like that. There will be many things under Brilliant Badass, so stay tuned!!
Andddddd I might even have brand new training to help you out with that, but you can find out more about that in the Education section.
In other news, you may have seen this on the socials as well.
I have moved back to LA.
I’ll spare you the details, but I wanted to let you know that the engagement with Jeff has ended.
It’s certainly not easy, but I do believe it’s truly for the best. There’s no “drama” and nobody to “blame,” it’s just what needed to happen for us both to honor authentic selves/paths.
The truth is, we wanted different things.
Drastically different things.
I want to speed up.
He wants to slow down.
I want to scale my business.
He wants to retire.
I want to see the world.
He wants to stay in Arizona.
At the end of the day, it just wasn’t a match anymore.
And while I love him dearly, sometimes love isn’t enough to make a relationship work.
I have worked too hard and too long to give up my dreams for someone else's dream.
So yeah, It was a year full of lessons, highs and lows but I can honestly say I’ve come out the other side with hope and joy for what the future brings.
Side note 1: Coming home to Los Angeles has been like having a realllllllly big glass of water after you’ve been dehydrated for weeks. That’s how much my soul needed to come home. You can literally feel the creative energy here. Sorry Arizona, I tried, but I’m a California / Beach girl at heart. Also, sushi. So much good sushi.
Side note 2: Yes, of course I’ll miss the studio (or the wunderkammer) but now the good news I have an entire townhouse to myself, and the cats have free reign of the entire place. They are the happiest I’ve seen them in years. And the new studio isn’t too shabby either.
About 75% way there, I’ll send more pics when it’s complete
Side Note 3: I have too many sidenotes, but trust me this one's worth it. When I was signing my lease I realized something amazing. I actually manifested the exact place I’m living in right now. When I was in my 20’s, I remember saying “One day I’m going to be successful enough to live south of the boulevard in Studio City.” And that’s exactly where I ended up!! In fact, when I drove by this neighborhood before I even had an appointment to see this place, the energy moving through my body told me “This is it!! You’re getting close!!” I swear, life is truly a game of hot and cold if you just follow your heart.
Daily Dose Of INSPO
“All too often it is audacity and not talent that moves the artist to center stage.”
- Julia Cameron
Mmm, I love me some Julia Cameron. If you haven’t read the Artist’s Way, it’s a must read. I’ve been revisiting it myself, and this quote really hit me when I read it the other day.
The fact of the matter is, it is rarely the most talented that become the most successful.
And honestly, I think sometimes having natural talent can even spoil you, because it trains you to rely on natural gifts rather than doing the work it takes to develop skills, so when things don’t come naturally to you, you may give up easily saying something like “ugh, I’m just not good at (insert thing you barely tried to do for 3 minutes before you gave up).
So, my humble opinion?
Talent is overrated.
And as Julia said, it’s actually audacity that moves the needle. It’s having the GUTS to actually take action.
I remember years ago I used to get mad when I saw other artists that were doing better than me because they were good at social media.
I caught myself saying things to myself like…
π "She's not that talented..."
π "I could do that way better…!"
But I finally realized that that attitude was actually a sign that I was blocked creatively, and that that mindset was actually a form of procrastination.
As long as I sat on the sidelines throwing stones at the people in the arena, I wasn’t in the arena, meaning I got to avoid rejection.
At the end of the day, it's way safer to have "ideas" than to execute on them.
Doing requires courage and a willingness to face rejection.
Once I realized that, I stopped throwing stones, and got my ass… well, into the arena.
Which is why I can't wait to tell you about this training, ergh.. Wait, we’re not at the education station yet. Hold tight. π¬
Music Recommendation
So, since I’ve moved into my new place I have been spinning Billie Holiday non stop on VINYL!!
Mmm… Vinyl. Coffee. Books. I sense a new Wunderkammer being built. I’m smiling right now just thinking about it.
While I can’t give you vinyl, here’s a pretty awesome Billie Holiday playlist:
