🗞ANNOUNCEMENT

2023 has been a year of wild metamorphosis and spiritual awakening for me, and I’m super excited to enter into the New Year with so much clarity and passion towards the next chapter in life and business!

I'm getting ready to launch the next iteration of my brand, which will include teaching my fellow creative entrepreneurs and musicians how to build and sell their online courses!

As many of you know, I started Produce Like a Boss in 2019, and it grew rapidly, crossing the 7-figure mark in less than 2 years (I know, I still pinch myself saying that, and we're about to cross the multiple 7-figs mark too, eeeeep!).

Over the last 4 years, I've learned SO much about building a brand, marketing my business, and most importantly, creating courses that REALLY help people and make a difference in the world.

I hesitated to launch this part of my business because I wanted to do it differently, and uniquely. I didn't want to become just another "online marketing guru" - no shade to them, but it doesn't fully encompass what I do.

In fact, when people commend my marketing skills, I smile and say, "I'm not a marketer, I'm a magician!" That's because I believe the real magic in building an amazing business and life comes from tapping into something beyond yourself.

Your ability to manifest, to visualize in your mind's eye and then bring it into form.

Your ability to co-create with SOURCE, and bring the CREATIVITY that is seeking to emerge from your soul into the world in service to others, in the form of your COURSE.

Because I believe courses are ART. They are your body of work.

Your impact on the world.

Your LEGACY.

I've put the same energy, creativity, and passion into each of my courses as I would into making an album, making the process fun, effortless, and WILDLY impactful - and now, I'm excited to teach others how I did it.

Don’t worry, Produce Like a Boss is not going anywhere!

But get ready for a BRAND new podcast dropping in 2024, and for me to start dropping GEMS on how to build your online business, which of course, starts with a GREAT product.

🗞Our Session Work 101 event

Our Session Work 101 event was an absolute HIT! 🥳

Exclusive to our VIPs and Produce Like a Boss All Access Pass holders, the Session Work 101 Event was a powerhouse gathering that gave an all round perspective view of the world of session work.

Ralph Ogunbiyi covered hiring session musicians from a Pro producer perspective. 

Aoife O’Leary spoke about how she transformed her skill from complete beginner to recording her own vocals for songs she was commissioned to create for a movie. 

Agnethe Melchiorsen dove into the nitty-gritty of deliverables and what it truly takes to be a pro session artist, sharing from the perspective of a producer who consistently hires vocalists. 

Michael Averill, shared his expertise about growing his own business as a session instrumentalist  - and about getting clients.

One of the most exciting highlights? The discussion about why everyone loves to hire within the P.LAB community. And if you’re a P.LAB AAP member, you already have access to consistent session job opportunities within our vibrant Facebook Group! 🎸🎶

🗞 PLAB Toplining/Singer Roster - and upcoming Auditions.

If you’re in P.LAB AAP (All Access Pass) you will know that we have been posting a TON of vocal session work in the Job Opportunities Facebook Group, and behind the scenes, we have been creating a P.LAB Vocalist Roster. 🥳

This vocalist roster is full of singers who have done an incredible job when they’ve been hired and have become our reliable go-to vocalists for any job!

We are now expanding this to be a Topliner/Vocalist Roster because we have an ABUNDANCE of toplining/singing work coming in - and we want to add to this roster in 2024! 🥳

Now, I won’t lie. This roster is for professional standard topliners and singers, and the bar is high.

But fear not! If you feel that you’re not quite at that standard yet, but you want to be - we will help! 

We are going to provide you with everything you need to uplevel your session toplining/vocal skills including the Session Singer Workshop I already mentioned.

Then at the start of February we are going to give you the opportunity to audition for the P.LAB Topliner/Vocalist Roster! 🤩

This will involve you submitting for a short brief, providing a demo and submitting stems - just like you would for a pro job.

At that stage, we will either bring you on board the P.LAB Roster, or we’ll be able to give you feedback about where you can improve so that you can apply again at the next audition. And you can audition as many times as you like!

How exciting is that?! 🥳

🗞 Team PLAB Roundtable Holiday Event

Last week we had the most FUN Team P.LAB Roundtable Holiday Call for all P.LAB students!! 🥳

(Fun fact! Did you know that Team P.LAB spans almost all continents and multiple time zones!!) 🌏🌍

But we figured it out so that myself, Michael, Katie, Aoife and Aimee could come together to share what's been happening in our own vibrant musical worlds. And we do such a variety of musical things!!

It was so fun for us all to spend a little slice of the pre-holiday season with you all and to have a virtual PARTY 🎈🥳✨

Daily Dose Of INSPO 

“Next time you go to manifest, remember, it can’t come to you if it can’t come through you.”

A lot of times we ask for things from the Universe that we aren’t vibrationally ready to receive, and this isn’t a bad thing, because it shows us where we have room to GROW! 🌱

Whenever I have a desire I’m trying to manifest, and it’s not happening, I like to get really still and look at who I am being vs. what I am asking to receive.

Then I take an honest inventory of my thoughts, beliefs, feelings, actions, and behavior and ask myself, “is this the way I’d be acting if I had the thing I wanted?” and if the answer is “no”, I know I have some work to do! 

Remember, the Law of Attraction doesn’t state you get what you want, it states that you get what you are.  

Music Recommendation 

🎵Our music recommendations this month are so FUN! ✨

First of all, in fitting with the holiday season just passed, we have the song, “Favorite Holiday (La Magia De Tu Amor)” by Rocío Lopez 🎄We just HAD to include this because it’s so creative and so fun (and listen out for Rocío’s Christmas RAP!)

And next we have “Made For Each Other” by John Uhlig (also known as Jackie Yule) 🎧🥳

It was June 2022 when John signed up for From Voice Memo 2 Demo and started production on this song. Now, after learning more skills and growing as a singer, he decided to revisit “Made For Each Other” and re-record it and improve it.

This new-and-improved version is our music recommendation for today - and it is SO GOOD!

It’s my very favorite part of the Newsletter where we get to award students in the P.LAB Community who are absolutely CRUSHING it!

We have the most incredibly talented P.LAB students who are doing amazingly in their artistry, in building music careers, and it is such a JOY to celebrate their hard work, dedication and success!

Producer of the Month

🥁Drumroll, please, for Producer of the Month for December 2023 - Andrew Milner 🥁

Andrew Milner's musical journey goes way back to '94 when he first tinkered with piano keys, but things really kicked off in 2005 when he switched gears to guitar and dove headfirst into the world of songwriting. 

Bands like Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, and Rise Against lit the spark for him, but his musical palette keeps growing with influences that include Mick Gordon, wild 80’s hair metal vibes, pop tunes, and a whole bunch more.

Andrew’s motivation to create music is rooted in the pure joy of experimentation and exploration, although he says that the dread of returning to a corporate IT gig acts as a driving force, propelling his musical endeavors forward.

In 2023, Andrew’s production has taken leaps and bounds, leading him to become our Producer of the Month for December.

In homage to the 30th anniversary of the original DOOM game, Andrew embarked on crafting an instrumental tribute album inspired by the works of Bobby Prince and Mick Gordon.

He ventured into diverse musical territories, exploring cinematic music by creating covers of anime songs, particularly from Dragon Ball. His exploration extended to the realms of synthpop and trap beat production, resulting in the completion of 12 synthpop beats and 3 trap beats.

And Andrew also has a series of educational books titled "Music Made Easy," available on Amazon, aiming to simplify music-making processes for enthusiasts. How amazing is all of that!?! 👏

Looking ahead to 2024, Andrew plans to release a long-awaited album, and an accompanying collection of covers complementing the album. 

Let’s review some of Andrew’s wins:

• Crafted an instrumental tribute album celebrating the 30th anniversary of DOOM's release

The PRO Producer award goes to students who have been hired for 10 or more PAYING jobs - and this month we are absolutely thrilled to award Anita Majumdar our PRO Producer!

Anita has been working so consistently on her craft, and this year alone she has had 12 paid jobs!! 

We want to celebrate her commitment and dedication, along with her awesome talent!! ❤️

We’ve watched Eddie be a complete LEGEND in this community over the past while! He’s been hired for vocal jobs in the job board, he’s been amazing in how he shows up in the Collab Labs and now he has been organizing P.LAB meet ups in his local Chicago!

Eddie is a source of inspiration, enthusiasm and encouragement for his fellow P.LAB students and we want to shine a spotlight on him as this month’s Community Champion.
