🗞 Diary of a Musical Mystic has new music!

I’ve sent a couple of emails recently talking about how I’m venturing into a new territory which is doing my own artist project! How incredibly humbling and vulnerable it is to pour your heart and soul into your music, I feel the burn! 😅(I know, it’s weird, I started off by pursuing music professionally before ever doing my own artist thing, bass awkards ehe?) 

So I started a blog called “Diary of a Musical Mystic” to document my journey, both musical and personal, and I recently added a new song.  The quick backstory is, a few months back I was going through a rough patch (don’t worry, I’m better now 😉) and I asked the Universe to help me heal, and a song was literally downloaded into my brain as I was crying in a treehouse. (seriously, there’s never a dull moment over here).

A lot of you have been asking me the backstory (in detail) about how I built my career as a songwriter/producer, and how I grew that into P.LAB.  So… in good ol’ Kris Bradley fashion, I went ham on it 🤓

We now have a “my story” page which you can check out here to get all the tea spillage on my backstory (and I think you’ll find the photos of youngster KB entertaining to say the least 😂).

Can we talk about the Alumni Roundtable call in the last couple of weeks! 🔥I am absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the sheer talent, dedication and success of our incredible Alumni! 🥳

🗞 A P.LAB First - A special Halloween interview with Death 💀

This week for Hallowe’en we had a Transformation Tuesday like no other before - one that sent shivers down our spines!!

We shared a sneak peek into the transformation from before (raw, rough demo) into after (full, pro production) of the song “Creepy Little Creeps” by Melissa Diblasio and P.LAB’s very own, Michael Averill.

And here's the kicker: Since this spine-tingling track belongs to Michael's project, Songs by Death, we're unleashing a P.LAB first - an interview with Death himself!! Who would've guessed that Death had such a musical soul?!

Music Recommendation 

🎵🌟 Hold onto your seats because this month we have two music recommendations  from P.LAB community members and they are both extraordinary! 

On October 20th, María Duque (Duquesamusic) released her very first single, “Analysis Paralysis” and Stella Bass released her single, “This Could Be The Start Of Something Big” - and you are going to absolutely LOVE them both!

Seriously, I had tears streaming down my face while listening to BOTH of these songs!

We are beyond thrilled to showcase the talent of these two Produce Like a Boss, badass women, and announce them as our Produce Like a Boss Spotify Playlist Winners this month! 🥳

P.LAB Student Spotlight 🔦

I’ve said it before, but Ahhhhhh, it makes my heart absolutely SING to give out these awards each month!

We have the most incredibly talented P.LAB students who are absolutely crushing it with their music careers, and it is such a pleasure to celebrate their hard work, dedication and success!

Producer of the Month

I am absolutely thrilled to award this month’s Producer of the Month to Jessica Deskin 🥳

Jessica is a VIP Alumni who has worked her tail off on her recording, production chops, and even set up her own production company this year!  Not only that, she upgraded her equipment, and is now using it like a boss as she cranks out pro level quality recordings! 

This last month, Jessica was hired for her first vocal job through the Produce Like a Boss Job Board and ultimately was hired for 5 vocal jobs over a few weeks and did an absolutely PERFECT job!

Jessica is not only creating her website and spotlighting her live performances and custom song creations at a bridal expo, she's also become a member of the New York Songwriters Collective. 

With plans to move to New York soon, she's refining her unique sound, diving into recording, and re-entering the live music scene with enthusiasm. 

A big round of applause for our Producer of the Month Jessica, Congratulations! 🎉🗽🎶

Library Legend

Congratulations to TWO PLAB community members this month on winning the Library Legend award! 🏆🥳

Derick Sebastian just got yet another music licensing album (“Aloha - Sweet and Fun Ukelele”) exclusively signed by one of the biggest libraries in the world for production music for film, television, commercials and media - Warner Chappell PM!! 🤩 

And Michael Evans has just been signed to a library and has delivered his first two tracks - cutdowns, metadata, the lot! - plus more to follow!

Last month, Jaquie completed production on her track, "Like A Tiger" and she’s currently in the final stages of another exciting song, "AI". 🎵

What's even more impressive is the recognition Jaquie has garnered in the Collab Lab as a fantastic collaborator! 👏

Jaquie, your dedication and musical prowess are truly admirable.

Sync Stars 📺 🎥 🌟

Our community is so full of rockstar, successful students that this month we are giving out THREE sync star awards!

Our first Sync Star is Cindy Slee!! 🥳

Cindy’s song, “Happy As A Jaybird’ from her debut solo album took the spotlight on the Canadian show, “Ruby and the Well” - and Cindy’s got the royalty check to prove it!!

Those in the P.LAB AAP Community - and especially in the P.LAB  job board - will have noticed how much vocal work we’ve been hiring people for in the last couple of months!

For anyone who has been a little intimidated by the tuning aspect of vocals, we want to help.

Melodyne is absolutely the tool I would recommend for vocal tuning. 

You can fix up your takes in no time flat with the toolbar and quick commands you're about to learn! 

Melodyne is a LIFE-SAVING plugin that allows you to play surgeon 👨🏾‍⚕️👩🏻‍⚕️ and just remove the parts of the note that aren’t in pitch, rather than moving the entire note. 

The result? 

A natural sounding, a professional vocal that can give Adele a run for her money!💰 

I recommend it to everyone! Let's get those vocals rockin' together! 🎸🤘
