Transformation Tuesday is where we shine a spotlight on track transformations, showcasing how P.LAB students are using their skills to transform their demos into fully produced tracks. 🌟

Today, we’re featuring the song “Regrets” by Marla Harvey - a heartfelt and deeply emotional piano ballad that captures the raw feelings of losing someone.

Marla began this track by singing her initial idea over a set of chords she heard in her mind, playing around with a unique progression that’s far from the usual pop structure. Instead of the typical I-IV-V-VI chords, she built "Regrets" around F, Am, Dm, and Bb, creating a haunting and soulful sound. 

After taking a step back to refine the lyrics, Marla decided to experiment with the new AI piano in Logic Pro 11, adjusting it to give the sound a more melancholic vibe. All of this added a depth to the song that perfectly mirrors its emotional weight.

One major milestone for Marla was mastering the song herself for the first time - and she achieved a polished final version that stands out in its clarity and emotion. 🎧
